The Interrupt Welcomes New Partners in Philadelphia

Cencora Impact Foundation and Johnson & Johnson Foundation are joining The Interrupt in Philadelphia to reach more residents.

In Philadelphia, The Interrupt is anchored by the Health Promotion Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania (HPC), a subsidiary of Public Health Management Corporation and nationally recognized nonprofit that has spent more than four decades advancing health equity in the region. HPC reaches more than 40,000 individuals annually through direct service, capacity-building, and systems of change.

"Philadelphia has no shortage of ambition when it comes to lifting community health, but ambition alone doesn't change outcomes. It takes trusted relationships, local expertise, and a deep understanding of what communities need. Through The Interrupt, we have an opportunity to connect corporate resources with community-driven solutions and turn that investment into measurable improvements in health. HPC has spent more than 40 years building exactly the kind of community infrastructure that makes that possible, and we're proud to anchor this work in our city,” said Susan Cosgrove, Executive Director of HPC.

As the charitable giving arm of Cencora, a global pharmaceutical solutions company, the Cencora Impact Foundation partners with organizations to help patients in unstable regions or situations safely access essential therapies. In Philadelphia, people experiencing homelessness have been a focus of this work through Foundation grants, corporate giving, and local team member engagement.

“The Cencora Impact Foundation’s mission and strategy is built on the understanding that organizations must partner together to expand access to healthcare. The Interrupt is built on that same premise. With Cencora’s global headquarters in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, our talented team members already volunteer and lead in Philadelphia, and working alongside other partners lets us put that time and expertise where it can make the most difference,” said Ken Hardy, SVP of U.S. Supply Chain Operations at Cencora and President of the Cencora Impact Foundation.

Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Foundation brings a longstanding commitment to community health to The Interrupt's cross-sector model. The J&J Foundation will help to advance The Interrupt's community health work in Philadelphia, bringing to bear its expertise in the healthcare workforce and connecting communities to care.

“Improving community health takes collective action. By joining The Interrupt, the J&J Foundation is proud to work alongside partners in Philadelphia to strengthen community-based health resources and help build the capacity of the nurses and healthcare workers who serve as trusted bridges to care.” Alice Lin Fabiano, Global Head, Social Impact and Partnerships, President of Johnson & Johnson Foundation.
