ViewStrong in the News: Building Bridges and Fresh Market Meet Rising Need in Southeast D.C.

More families in Southeast D.C. are turning to food pantries, according to The Washington Sun. At Washington View, Fresh Market is seeing about twice as many visitors each week as it did a year ago, Building Bridges Across the River told the paper.

Fresh Market at Washington View is a community food pantry that gives registered residents free access to essential and specialty food products twice a week. It also offers fresh produce and protein sourced from regional farms through the Freshfarm Food Hub.

ViewStrong, powered by The Interrupt, builds on Fresh Market by connecting residents to workforce training, health resources, and housing stability, so access to food is supported by the things that help sustain it.

Building Bridges Across the River, Novo Nordisk, and a coalition of partners are working toward that full picture because health depends on many factors working together. That is what The Interrupt was built to support.
